649 (Dursley) Squadron ATC - D of E training and expeditions

For those of you taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, you will need to start thinking about your expeditions. You must plan and submit your routes and the reason that you have chosen to do this expedition to the staff at least two months prior to commencing the activity.
If you wish to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award and don't know how to do so, all you need to do is ask the CO or any member of staff. What you will find out is that every cadet on the Squadron over the age of 14 should be taking part in this activity (even if you didn't realise that you are), and that the Civilian Committee fund your participation.

There are set to be changes in how we do things; we will now start looking at getting each cadet to pay for their D of E book initially, £10 for those undertaking their Bronze Award and £15 for those taking the Gold Award. This will be refunded on completion of the award. The reason for the change, is that if a cadet chooses to leave the Squadron or change operating authority, the Squadron should not be left footing the bill.
