
FLT LT CHRIS WHATLING
I am 40 years old and have been involved with 649 Squadron on and off for the last 24 years, joining the the Squadron as a probationer back in 1986!
I left the Squadron aged 20, and have served in both the Territiorial Army and Regular Army before having to leave through injury, but kept in regular contact with the unit and the former CO during this time.
In 1997 I rejoined the Squadron as a Civilian Instructor and became the Squadron Warrant Officer in 1998.
In 2003 I took Command of 649 Squadron when the former CO passed away unexpectedly and I was left to run the unit myself.
I gained my commission in the RAF VR(T) in February 2004 and have been the Commanding Officer ever since.
I am employed as a Civil Servant working in munitions but in the small amount of spare time I do get, I like to spend it with my Fiancee and my Eight year old son.

FG OFF LAURENCE DUNCAN
I am 42 years young and have been involved with the Air Training Corps since I joined as a cadet at 13 years old. I became a member of staff in 1989 as a Warrant Officer and was promoted to a Commissioned rank 9 years ago. I have served on different Squadrons within Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing and was recently given the opportunity to take up a position with Dursley Squadron.
Outside the Cadet organisation, I am a Quality Manager for a manufacturing company in Bristol and like to spend my free time reading, watching movies, DIY and gardening and playing World of Warcraft.
I married my wife Sally in 2009.

CI TONY MAY
I am 46 years old and have been married to Donna for 21 years. We have four children (Stephanie, Cameron, Alex and Aaron). Having been involved with a Tae Kwon Do demonstration for the cadets and also helping out on the five valleys walk, I decided to join 649 squadron, in 2007 as a civilian instructor. I am still hoping to work towards becoming a uniformed member of staff in 2010.
I am employed as a computer engineer working for EMC (A successful American organization) , and travel throughout the South West fixing large computer systems (Some of these weigh up to 17 tonnes!) .
I enjoy most sports, mainly Tae kwon Do (I am a first degree black belt and Assistant Instructor at Dursley TKD club). I am also a die hard supporter of Exeter City FC and travel to watch them home and away
whenever I can.

CI ROBIN JENKINS
I am 38 years old and have lived in Dursley for 5 1/2 years. I studied catering when i left school and worked in this for many years before having a career in the fibreglass industry before setting up my own property maintenance business. In 2008 I also joined GFRS as a retained firefighter in Dursley.
I am married and have two children the eldest of which has joined 649 Sqn. My hobbies are canoeing/ kayaking, off road driving and model making. I am currently applying for a Commission on the Squadron and have just gained my Canoe/Kayak coach Level 1 qualification in April 2010.

CI BECKY KING
I am 27 years old and have been with 649 Squadron as the Adjutant for four years, looking after the day to day admin on the Squadron.
I have a BSc (Hons) in Tourism Management. In my spare time I like to Kayaking and canoeing, running, walking and reading.
In 2010 I am planning to walk the Cotswold Way with one of the Civilian Committee in the hope of raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Care.

CI TOM BAMBER
I am 21 years old and i have lived in Slimbridge my whole life. I went to Marling School in Stroud. I joined 649 (Dursley) Squadron ATC at the age of 16 and progressed to the rank of Corporal within 6 months, Sargeant within a year and Flight Sargeant within a year and a half. I represented the Corps at Rugby and am now the South West Region Coach. During my time within the ATC i took part in all activities avaliable to me that i could. This included Camps to Ireland and a Gliding Scholarship. My time within the ATC was one of the best times i have had. I am now a Civilian Instructor and I help out when i am back from University at Loughbourough studying Aeronautical Engineering.

CI KYLE WARREN
I am 36 Years old and work as a machine operator in a large engineering company. I have been a Civilian Instructor in the Air Training Corps for the past 4 years. I began with 1329 Sqn and have since transfered to 649 Sqn. My hobbies include motorcross, computers and watching sci-fi movies.

CI KEV TITHERIDGE
I joined the unit in September 2009 and am looking at going into uniform as a Commissioned Officer. I have previously served in the Fleet Air Arm and worked as an Air Traffic Controller on a number of air stations. When I left the military I spent a number of years in Germany working with the British and German security services.
I have held a PPL with over 200 hours logged, and am currently qualified as a Councillor Level 1.

WARRANT OFFICER ATC FIONA WALSH
I am 32 years old and have been a Warrant Officer ATC for the last 9 years. When I attended the Warrant Officers course in 2001, I was the youngest Warrant officer in the Corps. On my course was a Warrant Officer called Chris Whatling; what a surprise to find that he is now the Commanding Officer of the Squadron! I am in the process of transferring from Dorset and Wilts Wing, into Bristol & Glos Wing and have chosen to serve on 649 (Dursley) Squadron with my old friend and new CO.
It is my intention to be responsible for the sports and the shooting on the unit.
